British Forces News TV cameras have been out with 4 SCOTS to see first-hand how the Afghan National Police are shaping up as they prepare to take over the security of Lashkar Gah this July. It is one of seven areas across Afghanistan named by President Karzai as his priorities for transition. The town centre has already handed over security to the Afghan police in all but name. Now many outlying checkpoints are on the brink of transition. Security at Checkpoint Kuchian in the north of the district will be handed over within the next few days.
