Contrary to what would be expected, the Primaris Berserker is actually the worst Berserker to get in almost every situation.

Probably the most important reason the Broken squad is the best squad, especially early in the game, is because the model count is so high. World Eaters are able to spike their requisition twice as much compared to the Primaris, and with a much smaller requisition cost. However, there are many other reasons why the Broken is best.

Compared to Primaris, the Broken Berserker squad:
Runs Faster
Captures points more quickly
Reinforces three times as quickly
Costs about a third.
Gets access to Icon Bearer, Aspiring Champion, Berserker w/Lightning Claws
Benefits more from regeneration of Gahlan Surlak and Icon Bearer

A fully reinforced Primaris squad will LOSE to a fully reinforced Broken Berserker squad.

Primaris get access to the Skull Champion in Tier 2, which the Broken have to wait until Tier 3. Certain AoE damage can hurt Broken more than Primaris.


Gahlan Surlak generates Broken, Khornate, and Primaris Berserkers.
