I’m playing Broken Edge VR on PSVR2 with Sense controllers.
In this video I am starting the game and try out as a Knight. I play the basic and advanced tutorials and take on the fighters in solo play. I do quite well but seriously need to learn the special moves.
The game looks nice with a cell shaded look and a pastel colour pallet, and it works well but feels last gen a lot of the time. The fighting is good but i was expecting this to be a bit like swordsman, and it is a lot more restricted than that and almost feels like fencing rather have full of sword fights. Its one hit a time and you are quite limited in where you can move.
Im am enjoying the game but it does feel last gen and when compared to VR sword games like Gorn or Swordsman, Broken Edge feels not as good or as free. It lacks realism and even blood options would if been nice.
But it does do weapons well and the swordplay feels good swinging the weapon about, but its core gameplay is just 1 hit, duel stops, both players restart, another duel starts, 1 hit, stops, restart duel, etc etc until round ends. Which feels slow paced compared to the previously mentioned games.
The multiplayer is the same gameplay as solo.
I would recommend Broken Edge as a VR sword game but only recommend it as a sale buy and if you only want 1 sword game on psvr2, Gorn or Swordsman would be a better option for the money.
