Brokers knowingly and willingly purchased and held synthetic AMC and Gamestop shares.
Gamestop performed the split count back on the 18th July, Gamestop and ComputerShare then distributed the shares on the evening of the 21st and they have now arrived in accounts on the 22nd.
But, some brokers won't be receiving their shares until the 25th, 26th and 28th, because these brokers obviously hold synthetic shares, and won't be receiving their shares until the hedge funds have purchased additional shares to give to them.
Effectively playing pass the parcel/hot potato with the few legally issued split shares in existence.
