Brutal Doom v21 GOLD has been released back in the May 2019, it includes several improvements (please look at the changelog from Moddb), especially in case of the performance. This is most likely the final release of Brutal Doom so enjoy the show (SgtMarkIV is busy with another project).

Suddenly out of nowhere the Marine hears the warning that they have been attacked by the unknown enemy force and he is quite far away from the closest Marine unit. You hear in the distance that the heavy fighting is quite close to you, so you better gear up and leave the Hangar as quickly as possible - but you only have a quite weak starting pistol here. The Marines decided to retreat to the Marine HQ to make the barricades and wait for help, but you know that Hellish invaders are numerous and can turn Marines into Zombies. Once you reach the Marine HQ, the barricades are long gone, all of the defenders are no more, probably most of them have been possessed by the forces of Hell. The beginning of the Extermination Day WAD is quite easy, first levels are quite a breeze, there are not so many ambushes that might catch you off guard. However there is one quite tough secret and ambush with a Soulsphere in Nukage Processing, on the Black Metal difficulty level, this secret is quite an unfair grinder for player. The real fun begins just after the Marine Headquarters level, expect quite longer levels with higher difficulty, but also more weapons such as Plasma Cannons to find. Unfortunately the Armory in the Marine Headquarters will not give you such a huge ammo boost like in other mods, the Doom 2016 Arsenal's ammo limit is quite small.
