I was just going to review Legendary edition, but I already have so many comparisons to make with 2, so I need to separate them.

Overall, I loved the game, though it certainly felt like a First-Of-A-Trilogy game. Lots of great pieces that fit together very awkwardly, but a good starting point at least.

Pros:
~ The Mako. It's ridiculous and silly, and I enjoy the way it controls. It has Skyrim Horse vibes and I find that entertaining.
~ Characters. I was charmed by a decent number of NPCs and at least half of the companions. Tali and Garrus are highlights, and I adore Wrex. Kaidan was cool, but felt kinda underwritten imo.
~ Sci Fi bullshit. Well-written stuff, if too verbose at times.
~ Story. I really enjoyed the central plot. Tremendous with spoilers. Everything is a goddamn spoiler in this game lol.
~ Weird side quests. They were all over the place, and some times repetetive, but I really enjoyed how weird they usually were.
~ Sniper rifle. God, I am obsessed with the sniper rifle in this game. Barely used anything else. I miss it already.

Cons:
~ The Mako. It controls like shit and while I find it entertaining, I can't call it good design. Also, don't have both sides of the vehicle go "forward" if the jet boost only works one way. I never got it stuck, but it felt like it could happen at any moment. Also, if you get too far away from it on foot, you may as well reload your save.
~ The dialog wheel is a mess. Misleading prompts, reduntant and unnecessary options, and it's easy to pick options you don't want when trying to skip dialog you've already heard.
~ Ashley. Genuinely laughed when I was told to choose between her and Kaidan holding down that base. Happy with the results.
~ Personal taste, but good god they can talk for a century about the way the science works. That's great for the interesting stuff, but sometimes it's just lengthy tangents about quantum physics. Someone else would enjoy the extent of it, but I was a bit fatigued at times.
~ The hacking minigame was a complete waste of time. It's annoying and easily brute forced. At about 30% gameplay completion, I just started holding the button and wiggling the mouse and it worked every single time.
~ Very limited romance options. Everybody can fuck Liara, but you're otherwise limited to a single human of the opposite sex.
