In this March 2013 video for advice on building a budget gaming rig, we take the approach of building the basic hardware for under $600 (US) dollars, Or £500 pounds. Everything is bought as new - although there is no copy of windows (so you'll have to buy / reuse that from an old rig depending on your OS license).
The PC will be using an INtel I5 CPU with a retial heat sink, combined with an AMD Radegon graphics card. The spec can be altered to set budgets, and you can shave cash off if you don't need certain parts - for example if you have a decent PSU (although be certain that it has good rails / high enough wattage and support for PCIE gpus)., you can also save money if you've already got a decent Hard Drive and of course the ability to take out your current CD/DVD rom.
Money would be wisely spent on either extra RAM, or a better CPU cooler to allow better overclocking on the CPU. Although the retail HSF should provide reasonable overclocking potential, a better third party cooler can only help matters!
There'll be more guides put up - including for higher budgets, so be sure to keep a look out for them!
