Bully Walkthrough Part 1: Welcome To Bullworth (INTRO & FIRST MISSION)
Welcome back to the channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we're going back to school, but not in a way you might be expecting as today, i'll return to the world of Rockstar Games for the first time since finishing Manhunt back in November 2023. The game that will ease us back into Rockstar's sphere will be an unique cult classic, Bully so sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.
Please note that this game, like my last year's walkthroughs of Yakuza 2 and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is played in PCSX2's software mode which for some reason beyond my knowledge doesn't support recording in fullscreen mode. Thus, blue bar at the top of the screen (emulator options) will be visible in every video of this walkthrough but it shouldn't detract from the overall gameplay quality or affect the game in any way. Thank you for understanding and now, without further ado, enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Bully (Also known as Canis Canem Edit in Europe) is 2006 action-adventure open-world video game with beat-'em-up elements developed by Rockstar Vancouver and published by Rockstar Games, initially exclusively for PlayStation 2, although expanded version of the game known as Bully: Scholarship Edition released in 2008 ported the game onto Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Windows-based PCs while 2016 saw the release of Bully: Anniversary Edition, mobile port of Scholarship Edition released for Android and IOS-compatible devices to commemorate 10th anniversary of Bully's initial release, and porting of original Bully onto PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Network as an digital downloadable. Upon release, Bully was met with mostly positive reviews as critics praised its narrative, characters, gameplay and design of missions, although some mini-games and glitches were criticized. Like many of Rockstar's games during this time, Bully was also subject to significant controversy and media witch hunt in an period leading up to its release in late 2006, primarily due to its alleged glorification of bullying and peer violence in schools, with the game having been outright banned in Brazil while in the UK, certain stores refused to stock the game and in US, Jack Thompson, Floridian lawyer infamous for his legal cases from the early 2000s involving Rockstar Games, unsuccessfully tried to have the game banned in Florida, calling it "Columbine simulator". However, controversy largely subsided once the game was actually released, having received T or equivalent age ratings in all territories where it was released except for Australia where it was rated as Mature-only game. Regardless, Bully went on to sell 1.5 million copies by 2008 and became Rockstar Games' cult classic which, despite its popularity had never received an sequel, although it is known that Bully 2 was allegedly in development sometime between 2009 and 2013 before being cancelled and abandoned with no plans for any kind of new Bully game being known to exist as of March 2025.
Story of the game follows Jimmy Hopkins, 15-year old boy whose deliqiuent tendencies, aggressive, headstrong personality, penchant for getting into trouble and almost total disrespect for authority have gotten him kicked out of multiple schools. As his mother remarries for the fifth time, Jimmy is enrolled into Bullworth Academy, an boarding school located in Bullworth, New England where he is to stay for an entire year while his mother and stepfather are on their honeymoon. While Jimmy doesn't hide his disdain for the situation, he cannot do anything as he is dropped off in front of the campus. Once he is, Jimmy is met by Mrs. Danvers, secretary to the academy headmaster who points him to his office in the campus' main building. In the office, Jimmy meets the headmaster, Dr. Crabblesnitch who, fully aware of Jimmy's history, resolves to "fix" him and turn him into an productive member of society, warning Jimmy to "keep his nose clean" during his stay at the academy. After the meeting, Jimmy heads to the campus' boys' dorm to get changed into his school-issued uniform. However, in front of the dorm building, Jimmy is accosted by a group of students who intend to beat him up, forcing Jimmy to defend himself, with Jimmy successfully fending off one of the students. However, another, significantly larger student sees that and attacks Jimmy, with Jimmy being saved only by an intervention of an professor who breaks up the fight and sends Jimmy off to get changed into his uniform. At the dorm, Jimmy meets Gary, another student who, despite Jimmy not being interested, wants to become his friend, reasoning that in the place as violent as Bullworth Academy, new kid like himself will need a friend, and offers to show him around the dorm before finally letting him get changed. As he does, Jimmy meets another student named Pete Kowalski whom Gary describes as "girliest boy in school" with Jimmy, hoping to finally get settled in, sending both boys out of his room...
