Whoa, check this out.

Okay, so I was in the lab messing about, right. And then I had an idea. What if, instead of lowering the bitrate on an AVCHD conversion from 4000kbps to 2000kbps, and retaining 60fps, I switched codexes and do a HTML5 conversion at 2000kbps, instead?

Consequently, I lose 30 frames, but I may be able to retain the overall quality within the HD ranges by doing the conversion this way, versus the way I was originally thinking about.

Well, after rendering for two hours (which was loosely estimated, but refined after the hour checkpoint) it sorta worked. When the game is standing still, it looks amazing (from the brief moments I've seen from one of the video players on my computer). But when things start moving about in chaotic fashion, not so much. It's still a double edge sword, but the things I'm learning from this series is teaching me a lot about how Youtube goes about things.... I think.

Also, the upload time for the HTLM5 conversion isn't as severe as the AVCHD conversion. Instead of the normal two-hour wait, I've grown accustomed to, because good things take time. The upload time has been cut in half, down to an hour.

This does make things a bit more interesting, but considering that the series is coming to a close soon, the experimenting process has to end for this project, at least.
