BZCC Total Command Mod Gameplay - Mission SS05: Escape from Mars
The lore of the Bio-metal War returns to the "Stars and Stripes" Campaign, where the NSDF have suffered a serious setback. While searching for the Hephaestus Cargo Ship and the Omega Starport, Commander Simmonds and the 5th Platoon were caught by a CCA Platoon, became overwhelmed by their superior forces, and lost the Recycler Minnesota. Grizzly 1 is the closest ally force, and as such, he was ordered to help the 5th Platoon by escorting the Recycler Wyoming to the platoon location. However, the stakes of the war raised off-charts when the CCA secured the Flight Log Database of the Omega Starport, and so, General Collins made the difficult choice of scrubbing the rescue of the 5th Platoon, and preparing to chase the CCA to wherever they were going.
I must say, this was the first mission I really had trouble to beat, because the CCA throw too many vehicles against the base. Also, the attack waves in the final portion of the mission come from a different flank, so you are toast if you didn't place any defenses in the other direction. Needless to say, this mission is much harder here than in the original game, although I must say that I took a shortcut to reach the Soviet Launch Pad in the original game. The times I didn't, it was very hard to reach the Launch Pad and then go back to the Dust-Off Site. Nevertheless, I still think this version is the hardest.
Overall, I think this version is a nice rework of the original map, but I don't think it was a faithful recreation, as the CCA Platoon come from a different place, and they don't pass through the CCA Base first, as they did in the original game. Also, the 5th Platoon location was behind the CCA Base, instead of a probably accessible place in the map, if it weren't for an invisible wall placed in the way.
There are plenty of battles ahead in this game, but I really need more time, because they'll become lengthier as well.
