Search for :

"Julius and Augustus Mod for Ceasar 3" (EDIT: LINKS AT BOTTOM)

and

"Caesar III - HD+ support" mod.

NOW:

The former is likely better (much better) than the latter, as a solution.

The JULIUS project - is more than a mod.
Volunteers (bless them!) created a new engine for C3, and then used the old graphics for it.
It's kinda like taking an old game's brain and transplanting it into a 20 year old athletes body.
So far for me: It is running great.

It's not a ROM or something that stands alone.
It requires C3 to be installed on your machine. (So don't refund.)

You're not really running the buggy mess that is this Steam Version.
You're running the new engine, and the game graphics and music and such are displaying.

Same game, can't tell the difference - if you play JULIUS.

But wait....there's more! :)

The JULIUS project opened the door for modding C3!

AUGUSTUS is the version of the project that improves the game.
Player-requested features from similar games (IE Pharoah,) have been added.

With Augusta you get:

-Roadblocks
-Some AI improvements
-Bug fixes Sierra never got around to
-"Right click and see walker waypoints"
(Anyone know how this works?)
-Ability to scale the graphics (EDIT - see instructions below)
-Ability to run windowed mode - and enlarge the window.
-Works ok on 4k, 42-inch tv screen i tested it on. Fullscreen worked!
-Many, many other "breath of fresh air" improvements, too many to list here.

Buttons and fonts are too small for my liking, so I'm trying to fix scaling.
But they say the option is there, and I can't wait.

Sorry this is written before I can verify everything claimed, but..I felt urgency posting this.
After the recent Humble Bundle Sale -
Many people are downvoting the game and asking for a refund...

Please, you don't have to suffer anymore. Julius. And keep googling solutions. :)

1) Make desktop shortcut to Julius or Augustus
2) R-click on augustus.exe
3) In "Target" area, after quotation marks type in --display-scale 1.5
(If that doesn't fit right, try 1, or 2 instead.)

1.5 was perfect for me on a 4k screen in windowed mode
