2n Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the Terminus Zombies map continues the Dark Aether storyline, focusing on the remnants of Requiem, a CIA-led team that previously battled interdimensional horrors. Following the closure of the Dark Aether portal at great cost—including Samantha Maxis’ self-sacrifice—Requiem's senior staff are arrested by Edward Richtofen, now revealed as a corrupt Project Director. Characters such as Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mac Carver, and others have been held for five years in a prison called Terminus, located on a remote island in the Philippine Sea.
The story intensifies when Dr. William Peck and newcomer Maya Aguinaldo arrive at Terminus to free them, only for a fresh Dark Aether outbreak to erupt on the island, forcing these unlikely allies to work together. This outbreak also spreads to Liberty Falls, West Virginia, creating a dual-front zombie onslaught that expands the high-stakes action of the mode.
