I had already noticed that the enemy Dutyers at the Bloodsucker Village, were also allies with two of my allies, namely the Ecologists and Mercenaries. I took note of my relations score with each of them before the attack. The Ecologists were -261 and the Mercenaries were -112. After killing the four Dutyers, who had some good loot including artifacts, the Ecologists score nearly doubled to -524 and the Mercenaries to -216. So, this is a great example of the risk you take, attacking your enemies that are allies with your allies. In effect, I have made my situation worse with the Ecologists and once it goes past -999, they become my enemies.

As I have an outstanding job with an Ecologist to give him a document, I risk failure sooner, the more my negative number increases. You have to decide if the risk or action is worth it. If your gain was worth the relations points it cost you. Now in my case, I was not forced to confront the Dutyers, I went out of my way to kill them. If you have no choice, it is understandable if you run into enemies when traveling and must fight them, however this is a great example over the consequences of the choices you make. I am undecided if I will keep this outcome or if I will revert to my save before my attack.

Also of note, the Ecologist that I was thinking about trying to get my reward from, who had been in the Red Forest Mine last I looked, was now in Jupiter and getting farther away.
