I had taken the two Freedom soldiers from the Dark Valley, through the Truck Cemetery and now in Rostok, and I was concerned about their status with other Factions. I already knew they were okay with Duty and the Bandit Faction likewise, had alliances with both Freedom and Duty. When I looked at my PDA Faction relations, to my surprise, the Ecologists were neutral yellow. I must have missed the message about that new alliance, most likely as I was sprinting for shelter.

This is great news. I had planned to wait out going to the Miracle Machine until the Ecologists were no longer my enemy. I just didn't expect that to happen so quickly. When we left the Dark Valley, the destination had been Jupiter, to see our outpost at the Container Yard and just spend some time up north. I was just lucky to catch the Faction relations change, while we are in Rostok and not committed to the original plan. We might as well go through the Wild Territory, to get to Yantar the quickest.
