Testing a myth on the internet that a cheap motherboards can't handle more than 110W total CPU power draw vs one of the best budget AMD AM4 motherboard.
This motherboard is Asrock B450M Pro4-F and the CPU used in testing is Ryzen 5500 which has TDP of 65W, overclocked to 120W.
A cheap $70 motherboard definitely can run a 120W CPU before the CPU itself explodes due to insufficient CPU cooling. Will need additional CPU fan before the heat spreads to the VRM as my PC does not include a fan.
In theory, Ryzen 5500 only use 3.6W SoC so this motherboard can handle as much as 5950X at stock speed with about 20W SoC, may not require additional VRM cooling but should have one to improve the VRM airflow.
