In the field of medicine, is the human ability to analyse and diagnose unique and unparalleled? Or should we look forward with eagerness to a health system with widespread AI integration?

Throughout history, human mortality has meant that doctors are revered. Now computers have the potential, and some claim are already able, to aggregate across all human conditions to determine what is wrong with us more accurately than ever before. But how should these new technologies work alongside healthcare professionals, and will it lead to better health?

Natalie Bennett is former leader of the Green Party and former editor of The Guardian Weekly, as well as founder of the blog Carnival of Feminists and an active campaigner on women's issues.


Emily Grossman is a science communicator and populariser. She is an expert in molecular biology and genetics, with a PhD in cancer research. She was recently named as the second Honorary STEM Ambassador alongside astronaut Tim Peake, for her work in STEM education.


David Healy is Professor in Psychological Medicine known for criticising a lack of neutrality regarding psychotropic drugs and his role in ‘Toronto Affair’ over academic freedom.


Anders Sandberg is James Martin Fellow at the Future of Humanity Insitute at Oxford University, his research centres on the ethical and social implications of future technologies and human enhancement.
