After recording the footage roughly 4 months ago, we attempt a challenge run of Astroneer that avoids digging with the Terrain Tool! It took over 24 hours to record across 5 different sessions.

I only blew up the shuttle once!

A careful review of the footage will reveal that I'm pulling out the terrain tool quite frequently! The game happens to limit how far away you can reach to pick up items unless the player holds the terrain tool first. This trick is called "Terrain Tool Extension" and it happens to be used all of the time while speedrunning.
