Can you beat Minecraft in Pacifist Mode?

So today I played Minecraft but we cannot ATTACK anyone, so basically in Pacifist difficulty! Minecraft in pacifist mode is really DIFFICULT, the hostile mobs become 100X more dangerous, and hardcore mode is so much harder! How will I even collect food to survive?!
