The Macbook pro has integrated graphics people for a long time have looked down most integrated graphics because they can’t seem to perform well enough. about 5 years ago we saw HD3000 than HD4000 came around the corner and showed us that gaming with out a dedicated graphics solution is possible.

When I saw the HD4000 play Counter-strike Source with smooth playable frame rates and decent graphics I was stunned a Surface Pro could even game in the first place! To me it was a miracle! I had always thought you couldn’t game with out a dedicated graphics solution. Later I grabbed a Surface pro 3 and played around with the graphics, which where a slight step up. months later I traded my Pro 3 for a Macbook Air which had HD5000 which to me was a significant boost! The rest was history I started testing various laptops with emphasis on gaming and integrated graphics.

Specifically for you:
When purchasing a laptop always try to get a minimum of 8gb ram and the top of the line integrated graphics if it doesn’t have dedicated.
For instance in the surface pro 4 you can grab an i5 model which has the slower hd520 graphics or you can grab the i7 model which comes with the iris 540 which is up to 40% faster
Always grab better graphics if you can!
If Your Thinking about maybe a macbook air or other devices that start with 4gb ram instantly upgrade it to the 8gb as that will be very useful and will go a long way in preventing your system from freezing up.
