Carapace of N'zoth Raid Guide - Normal/Heroic Carapace of N'zoth Ny'alotha Boss Guide
2,223Carapace of N'zoth Normal and Carapace of N'zoth Heroic guide! This one's a trip. Carapace of N'zoth is a raid boss in the Ny'alotha raid of BfA. This Carapace of N'zoth boss guide will show you the Carapace of N'zoth abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Carapace of N'zoth fight. Mythic Carapace of N'zoth has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Carapace of N'zoth guide. Footage of Carapace of N'zoth for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Ny'alotha raid releases on live servers starting January 21st. As you may have guessed, my own testing groups were unable to see Phase Two or Phase Three of the Carapace of N'zoth boss encounter so I've made use of some graphics to illustrate those mechanics.
The key to Carapace of N'zoth in Phase One is keeping your Sanity high. If you lose all of your sanity, you will be permanently Mind Controlled and your teammates will need to bring you down. Use Wrathion's aura during Phase One and Phase Two (100%-40%) to replenish your Sanity as needed.
The most dangerous boss mechanic in the Carapace of N'zoth Ny'alotha encounter are the Tentacle Slams, which will one-shot you. You'll see these in Phase One and more in Phase Three. Watch out for Tentacle Shadows on the ground and move out of them. After the tentacle slams down in Phase One, you can climb up it if needed to clear out the Hemorrhage adds before they explode. Stay clear of the sides of the tentacle to avoid the splashes and kill the Nightmare Antigen adds after the red blobs are done.
Aside from that it's a matter of damaging through Adaptive Membrane shields, getting out with Madness Bomb and Insanity Bombs, and dodging other simple mechanics like the Occipital Blast frontal cone of Phase Three.
