This walkthrough is born out of pure madness about the fact that my favourite N64 games just aren't suitable to be walkthroughed, due to several glitches which make the games just unpresentable. So instead, I give to you this walkthrough of Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow, just to hold you over and give me time to plan my next bigger game.
What can be said about Castlevania? It's a popular gaming franchise; the games revolve mostly around stopping Dracula and his henchmen from engulfing the world in darkness (or so). So what do you do to stop him? Just hack and slay your way through hordes of enemies and beat the big guy in a huge showdown at the end.
The game itself is constructed like a huge maze, much like in Metroid (hence the term "Metroidvania"). You move around in corridors with ways branching off in all directions and it's your task to find your way around this mess and to your destination. Sounds harder than it is.
Aria of Sorrow is kind of different in that you don't really fight Dracula, but more on that later. For now, let's just play and I'll explain the rest along the way. Have fun watching! =)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We start up the game and let the pregame story roll. Apparently, a teenage boy named Soma Cruz along with his friend Mina are somehow teleported to Dracula's castle, which is inside of a solar eclipse in Japan. Sense where? Sense low. Anyway, they meet a mysterious person named Genya Arikado who tells Soma to head for the Master's Chamber to leave the castle. That seems to be our goal. Also, Soma has some weird kind of power which lets him absorb the souls of slain enemies and use their powers for his own. Swell. Everything will come together later, if you don't know the game, you might even be a little surprised. =)
Anyway, we get to actually do something and GOD am I rusty. Aria of Sorrow is not too hard a game though, so it'll probably not come back and haunt me if I take a few hits here and there. We actually make it to the first boss pretty quickly and slay him so we may go on and take a first small stop in a save room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wrote this in my Bomberman videos too but since they're gone now, I'll write it in here again: I'm happy to say that my account has been enabled to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, which I find pretty cool. To make this walkthrough worth watching though, I'll probably not make the parts too big or else I'll be done in like 10 segments. I suppose it will be a quick walkthrough, and that's the way it's supposed to be.
For those who know the game a bit: This will be a walkthrough that visits all areas, uses no glitches or anything. What I will sure as hell NOT do is to go for 100% soul collection, that would take far too much patience out of me.
Finally, I would like to recommend the 100% souls TAS speedrun for this game; if you like the game, be sure to watch it because it is just one of the most impressive runs I've seen in a while.
