In Sciences District, jumping from a specific spot on the broken bridge down towards the tunnel where you climbed up earlier, the game makes a meter appear on the screen which shows how long your freefall is.

At first I thought the point was for the player to target the tunnel and fall down through it to create a precise, extra long fall and maybe receive something as a reward... but apparently not. So what is the point of this mysterious meter that so far only appears here?
