The puzzle bits is the least of your problems in this level once you get to control Laura the second time around.

Despite being a powerful vampire, Laura's weaknesses are exposed once she's engaged in combat. For starters her basic attacks are ridiculously slow and short-ranged especially the charged lightning bolt, which is the most effective method of stunning the creeps. She also can't jump and block, limiting her defensive options. Good thing she has the mist ability as without it she'll always be minced meat in Carmilla's room.
