So, due to the more limited entertainment options a lot of us (including me!) have been having these past months, I've definitely become more appreciative of the options I do still have... and in an effort to help do my part, I'm currently recording and uploading on an "every third day" sort of pace (which is a slightly faster pace than normal for me!). Once again, I hope it helps, even if just a little! ^.^

Anyway, a full game playthrough for a relatively short game I'm already reasonably familiar with... seemed to be pretty time-efficient. =) And Octodad and Portal were both a lot of fun to record, so...

Gato Roboto! ^_^

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned at some point before that I'm actually a fan of Metroidvanias, even though, uh, very few of the videos on this channel are for Metroidvania games. ^^;

Well, now we have one more Metroidvania game on the channel. =)

I actually picked up Gato Roboto shortly after its original release. I was kind of lured in by the cuteness and humor... but it also seemed like a fun game.

And it was. I ended up playing through multiple times (including a low percent run (no Health/Mech upgrades other than Rockets, Phase, and Decoder) that was an interesting challenge!). =)

So anyway, I had a lot of fun playing through this game again, so... hope you enjoy!

- And yes, there is an auto-save after you get on the elevator (I think(?) it happens when the elevator reaches the bottom)...
- (also, unlike many Metroidvanias, Gato Roboto does not allow you to reload and search for collectibles after finishing the game... so if you're going for 100% (or just want to find a couple more Healthkits or Upgrades to make the final battles a bit easier), you really should do that before getting on the elevator!)
- The game actually auto-saves every time you enter a new Map area (i.e. not just when entering the Laboratory).
- In case anybody was wondering about other auto-save points... based on memory, I think(?) the other major auto-save points are: every time you win a boss fight (maybe the sub-bosses as well), and every time you pick up a collectible or upgrade.

- Oh, and in case anybody was curious, you can't get back to the previous area even with the Hopper... even though it looks like you should be able to. =)
- Though to be fair, this is true for every elevator shaft (the game won't let you go to the next Map unless you're actually riding the elevator), not just this one. =)
