CBNST: Beating the Developer Time w/o Hobslides - Ruination (CB2) 0:38:70 [PC]
This level’s developer time is very lenient, but it suffers the same issue with Diggin’ It and Cold Hard Crash despite the fact that this level is one of the shorter levels in the fourth and fifth warp rooms. On the plus side however, you can actually take advantage of the zombie glitch with full force in this level, albeit it’s harder to execute here due to the much smaller timing.
The strategy to beat the developer time is similar to Road to Ruin with some minor differences. If you decide to beat the developer time with the zombie glitch like I did in the video, the only thing you had to worry is the tricky platforming of the level especially the rotating pillars at 0:57. However, if you decided to beat the developer time in the proper way (in other words, without the zombie glitch), you should also watch out of the nitro crates in this level since you are likely running into them unintentionally, especially when they hop much higher than intended. Also, you are allowed to wait for the fire-breathing statues at the middle of the level. By the way, you can get the invincibility in this level, but getting it is only a trivial matter since getting the invincibility in this level doesn’t benefit you much other than having a slightly easier time against the log-throwing gorilla at the end of the level.
I’m really happy for my current time as I had beaten the developer time with the biggest margin so far in Crash 2 time trials. Though I had to admit I wasted quite a lot of time in this level because I had a hard time to execute the zombie glitch.
