Welcome to the future... as a mech mechanic. After 30 minutes in, it seems the game wasn't that difficult, once you got the scanner mechanism down... Match the amplitude, then shift the phase until you get proper overlap of the scan patterns, then all the problems will be revealed. Then it's a matter of removing the right part, and buy/fix the part and putting them back in...

TIP: you don't need to "keep the hose on" the mech to wash. In fact, that wastes water and your money. Just a quick one-second burst will clean just fine.
