Welcome back to my first CDP inspired by the new April 2024 F/L list, and this time we're featuring the Thunder Dragon archetype. Consisting of LIGHT and DARK Thunder monsters of various levels, the Thunder Dragons have seen play in a number of different ways, whether it is in a turbo beatdown format with Chaos Dragons, or in a more Fusion-focused approach. Today's build definitely leans more Fusion of those two, but I've also incorporated a few fun Chaos Synchro support options, that levels up the deck a bit. For the core strategy, your goal is to banish Thunder Dragondark or Thunder Dragonroar to gain card advantage, whether it is through Aloof Lupine, Allure of Darkness, or even Gold Sarcophagus. After any Thunder monster's effect activates in the hand, such as Thunder Dragon itself, Nemeses Corridor, or the new Shiivertake, your Thunder Dragon Colossus can be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by tributing a Thunder monster. Once you've accumulated enough Thunder Dragons across your GY and banishment, Thunder Dragon Fusion lets you bring out Thunder Dragon Titan, to control the field through Quick Effect destruction.

On the engine side of today's deck, we have the rest of the Nemeses monsters, which serve as additional ways of recycling your cards back into the deck for re-use. Archnemeses Protos and Archnemeses Eschatos also serve as great boss monsters, locking down an opponent that relies on one Type or Attribute to win the duel. On the Chaos support side of things, I really love the addition of Mental Tuner and Emergency Teleport to the mix, as Tuner allows you access to a wide variety of Synchro monsters, while also recovering or banishing your LIGHT and DARK monsters. There's also Chaos Mirage Dragon, if you need extra help banishing your opponent's threats off the board when Synchro Summoning. For my Synchro options, of course there is Chaos Angel, Chaos Archfiend, and Chaos Beast, but you can also turn to something like Mannadium Prime-Heart, if you so choose. Finally, I want to give a shoutout to the two Thunder Token generators, Shiivertake and Batteryman Solar, as each can generate Tokens to help fuel Link Summons, such as for Thunder Dragon Thunderstormech! When lightning strikes, Thunder is sure to follow, so bring on the Chaos of the storm!
