Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of the Double Dragon LCD handheld from Tiger Electronics.
It's Double Dragon exactly as you remember it! Okay, maybe not. But if you were a kid in the 1980s, you lowered your expectations when it came to LCD handhelds. Just having a vide game in your hands was awesome, let alone something (kind of) like Double Dragon! This is an LCD beat 'em up with four missions of punching and kicking enemies. Beat them all and reach the door at the end of the level to progress. Each mission is more difficult than the last, and players will have to strike fast and avoid the things that jerk is throwing at you from above. There are new LCD graphics in each level, ranging from buildings to trees and what looks like dog poop. Hey, like we said, you lowered your expectations for LCD games. And they were still awesome. The Double Dragon LCD handheld is a single-player game, but only because WiFi hadn't been invented yet.
