Gauntlet returns for more hacking and slashing on the original Game Boy! Gauntlet II is a 1990 release that keeps much of the original’s gameplay in tact, but it also makes some subtle changes and additions that give the game its own feel. Players choose one of four Tolkien-like characters and slash their way through enemy-filled dungeons. Gauntlet’s claim to fame has always been its overwhelming amount of enemies and multiplayer, two things that are more difficult to achieve on the Game Boy, but Gauntlet II is still a decent handheld adaptation. Gauntlet II features single-player and local multiplayer play.
