Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire were assumed. They were assumed for a long time, though, since every other generation has seen remakes, but time kept going on and we never saw our Hoenn hopes confirmed. It took a venture into the Greek alphabet to give us an Alpha and Omega to stand alongside X and Y. The familiar story is told once again - not just the one where you're a plucky kid off to be the very best like no one ever was; that much is a given. Specifically, the tale of said kid thwarting the plans of a team of mischief makers out to alter the environment itself, until they see the wrong of their ways and you end up capturing an ancient, world-forming force. Like ya do.
