Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Mortal Kombat II for the Game Boy published by Midway.

A year after Mortal Kombat debuted on the Game Boy, Midway released this vastly improved sequel. Unlike the original game, Mortal Kombat II is actually kind of playable on the Game Boy. That alone is a huge improvement. A trimmed down version of the console game, Mortal Kombat II features eight main fighters and a few surprises. The only gameplay mode is the traditional arcade mode, where players must fight each character one at a time to progress through the game. Mortal Kombat II looks and plays much better than the original, although it's similar in terms of content. Play as Scorpion, Reptile, Liu Kang, Sub Zero and more of your favorite Mortal Kombat characters. Mortal Kombat II is a single-player game on the original Game Boy.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Mortal Kombat II for the Game Boy and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
