Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Ripple Island for PlayStation developed by Tokai Engineering and published by Sunsoft.
Ripple Island isn't a hard-as-nails action platformer, which makes it distinct from the rest of Sunsoft's offerings of the era. It is, instead, a first-person adventure around an island inhabited by people, talking animals, various kinds of terrain, and behind it all a huge frog-beast who's taken the Princess hostage. As was standard in the 1980s, an intrepid adventurer is on the case, because there's probably marriage in the cards if he succeeds in his quest. How his traveling companion's going to take that, though, is anyone's guess.
