Othello Millenium - which released just before the millenium, just so we're on the same page - doesn't just emulate the classic board game of flipping little discs back and forth. No, it also acts as a teaching tool, providing a cute animal-looking thing that you yourself raise from a blob of protoplasm, which either cheers your excellent plays or jeers your bonehead maneuvers. There are even quizzes on the nature of the game, which test your analysis of a board state and require you to pick out the best play.
