Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Shining Force EXA for PlayStation 2 developed by Neverland and published by Sega.
Shining Force EXA... isn't Shining Force at all. Aside from being published by Sega, the two games have nothing in common (aside from a robot named Adam). This isn't a continuation of the tactical RPG series by Camelot that went toe-to-toe with Fire Emblem in the 90's... instead, it's an action RPG featuring two different main characters searching for parts to refurbish and fine-tune a massive, partly-sentient castle. Cast aside your expectations and just enjoy it; Shining Force EXA stands on its own (even though you're not going to get your expected quantity of armadillos in steam-powered battlesuits).
