Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the Nintendo Wii U developed and published by Ubisoft.

Sam Fisher's Wii U debut is a strong one. Splinter Cell: Blacklist makes some significant improvements to the franchise's stealth-based formula, resulting in a game that's more dynamic and forgiving. And on the Wii U, the unique attributes of the GamePad allow controlling Fisher's gizmos and gadgets to be an easier experience than ever before. Switching weapons and items is done with a simple tap, and Blacklist even uses the GamePad exclusively for certain missions, including aerial sniper jobs. The gameplay is still built upon a solid stealth foundation, but it also allows players to take a louder approach. Players are scored based on three different styles, ranging from the stealth-based Ghost approach to Assault's all-guns-blazing approach. Your score is based on which approach you take, which makes the game more accomodating to more play styles. For the most part, Splinter Cell's attempt to diversify itself is a successful one. Even on the Wii U. Splinter Cell: Blacklist has single-player and online multiplayer components on the Wii U, but no local co-op.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
