Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Oide Rascal for Game Boy Color developed and published by Seta Corporation. Oide Rascal brings us an animal-raising game with a rather odd lineage: It's based on the anime Rascal the Raccoon, which was a part of the long-running World Masterpiece Theater block on Fuji TV. This anime was based on the bestselling children's novel Rascal: A Memoir of a Better Era, written by Sterling North and published in 1963. The book, and thus this game, take place in World War I-era Wisconsin, where a boy with a lot on his mind finds, adopts, and cares for a young raccoon.
