Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Warriors for the PlayStation 2 developed and published by Rockstar Games.

In 1979, a movie called The Warriors was released, and the world of B-movies about gangs from Coney Island would never be the same. Case in point? In 2005, a game called The Warriors was released, and the world of open-world games about gangs from 1979 B-movies would never be the same! Developed by Rockstar Games, The Warriors tells the story before the story of the movie, and later in the game, the stories align and you get to play through some popular moments from the film. The gameplay is firmly rooted in the grand tradition of 3D beat ‘em ups, focusing on button-mashing combat with a variety of moves and weapons. Roam the dark, dilapidated streets of Coney Island while mugging the innocents, fighting the rivals and painting the buildings! A fitting tribute to a cult classic, The Warriors is a single and multiplayer game.

This video review features video gameplay footage of The Warriors for the PlayStation 2 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
