Changed my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, to an Intel Xeon E5450.

Used this adapter strip here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LGA-771-to-775-Adapter-Sticker-for-XEON-CPU-Mod-Quad-Dual-Core-Pin-Modification/222869944327

Removed the backing tape covering the adhesive on the adapter strip, then spent AGES trying to line it up, eventually got it lined up pretty much perfectly, just to realise it was upside down. So I took the adapter off again with tweezers and eventually got it lined up the right way. Cutting the plastic tabs off the CPU socket in the motherboard was pretty tough though, left the Q6600 in for some of it, but I couldn't cut them completely off, without removing the Q6600. Then I reconnected the power cord, the wireless keyboard dongle and the HDMI cable, to see a BLANK SCREEN, pc wasn't beeping or making any error noise, which is when I noticed I'd put in the wrong HDMI cable, put the right HDMI cable in, and yeah, it works. Disconnected the 3 things again, put the side panel back on, and then reconnected EVERYTHING. Left front case USB is the wireless keyboard/mouse/remote dongle, Right front case USB is a 2.5" 1TB HDD with Emulators and Roms on it, Back top left and Back top right are USB sticks, Middle left USB is Wireless 360 receiver, Middle right USB is empty, Bottom left USB is Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 receiver, Bottom right USB is 8TB 3.5" HDD with all my Steam and GOG.Com games installed on it.
Then there's 3 audio connections for my 5.1 Surround sound speakers, an Ethernet cable, the PSU plug and the HDMI cable for the GPU to the TV.

The Q6600 was overclocked to 3.0GHZ, the E5450 is at 3.0GHZ stock.
