Chaos Control - MS-DOS 1995 - full playthrough カオスコントロール Microsoft IBM PC Steam
7I'm going through some of the different versions of Chaos Control in order to provide a reference to demonstrate differences between each version of the game.
This is my playthrough of the MS-DOS version from start to finish. Played on a fairly modern PC via DOSBox. This is the version you would be playing if you bought it from Steam, including a DOSBox wrapper.
This version of the game can only be played with a mouse (or similar pointing device, such as a trackball). It allows for only "relative" cursor control, so "absolute" pointing devices, such as touchscreens or lightguns, will not work effectively.
All of the levels from the CD-i version are present, but some of them are significantly shorter. I did try the "Advanced" skill level as well, in case they were shortened only for the difficulty setting, but they were no different.
The graphical quality is also very much reduced. I believe this is because the enemies and scenery are being rendered during gameplay - I have observed drops in performance when there are many enemies on screen at once; an issue that wouldn't happen if it was all pre-rendered video as with the console editions.
