Chapter 4 (Encounters) - Let's Play ICARUS.1 - Episode 4 - ICARUS.1 Full Playthrough
Things seem to go from bad to worse in ICARUS.1 Chapter 4 (Encounters). Sam’s attempts to leave the ICARUS.1 and David’s advice on how to accomplish this task don’t go as planned, leading to an encounter that sheds light on just what the heck is happening on the ship. Come and let's play ICARUS.1!
Welcome to my ICARUS.1 blind playthrough! I’ve been following the development of ICARUS.1 for some time now given that it’s an atmospheric, space-based exploration game. I’m looking forward to working my through the environmental puzzles and sampling the rest of the ICARUS.1 gameplay mechanics (including collecting ore). As with my other series, this will be an ICARUS.1 full, blind playthrough and guide, so I hope you all come on a new adventure with and let’s play ICARUS.1!
A huge thanks to Jon Caplin (the one-man powerhouse behind electrolyte) who so graciously provided me with a Steam key for the game ahead of schedule. ICARUS.1 is impressive on its own, but even more so when you think it’s just a one-man show!

Episode 1 of my ICARUS.1 blind playthrough starts with Sam entering the derelict ICARUS.1 accompanied by David, her disembodied AI companion. This is ICARUS.1 Chapter 1 (First Encounters). While exploring the ship, Sam encounters email and diary messages left by the crew that hint at some far-flung, last-ditch research and mining mission. Parts of the ICARUS.1 are powered down, some require security clearance, and others are just obstructed by fallen debris. Sam first needs to open the blast shield windows and get some light in this place! In Episode 2 of Let’s Play ICARUS.1 we play ICARUS.1 Chapter 2, Revelations, where we continue exploring the ship, learning about its mission, and being contacted by disembodied voices. Chapter 3 of the ICARUS.1 full playthrough finds us going even deeper into the ICARUS.1 and learning that something not only happened to the crew that we may not be able to leave. In Chapter 4 of ICARUS.1 blind playthrough, Sam’s attempts to leave the ICARUS.1 backfire as she accidentally frees the ship’s AI. ICARUS.1 promises to be a short, but intriguing exploration game. I cannot wait to play through the other chapters in this ICARUS.1 full playthrough; so come and let’s play ICARUS.1 blind together!
The ICARUS.1 game is a first-person adventure game with environmental puzzles to solve and mysteries to uncover. ICARUS.1 is set on a derelict ship whose crew is missing, leaving only their possession and notes behind. I'm very excited about what this game can offer, and look forward to giving you my ICARUS.1 first impressions as well as maybe a short ICARUS.1 review.
Afterwork Gaming ("Tonight, we game!") was created so that I can share interesting games with you all via playthroughs, walkthroughs, and guides. ICARUS.1 is just the kind of game that I want to ICARUS.1 lets play blind so that we can enjoy the full playthrough.

ABOUT_
Abandoned for decades, crew MIA, the ICARUS.1's job was to store mined minerals from the systems outlying planets and perform research duties. Orbiting the local sun to maintain it's solar energy and live up to its namesake, it provided a lucrative business for JME corp.
After contact was lost no rescue attempt was ever made with the stricken station, instead the project was mothballed along with its precious cargo - a cover up some may say.
Many stories about what happened have become lore but Sam isn't focusing on these 'stories', the goal is the cargo and the wealth it will bring.
- 5 Chapters to explore
- Piece together the mystery from crew records
- Solve environmental puzzles to explore deeper
- Survive and escape!
PROJECT BACKGROUND_
Created by Jon Caplin - electrolyte - over the course of a year and a half, it has been his first attempt at realising a game in Unity. The original ICARUS.1 prototype was developed in under 3 months for Edge Magazines - Get into Games Contest 2015 and was the overall winner.
It was exhibited at the Dare to be Digital 2015 games festival and also featured on Channel 5's Gadget Show.
