Chapter #6: Assassin | Elden Ring - Commander O'Neil
24The Confessor's curiosity led him to a shack in the middle of the crimson land, Caelid. In the shack was an old sage named Gowry, who gives him a task: to retrieve a golden needle in Caelid. This needle is the cure needed by a girl named Millicent, who sits in the church above the mage town Sellen. Her body is slowly being eaten away by scarlet rot, a poison so powerful that it can weaken gods.
As Ezra searches for the needle in a rot-infested land, a heavily-armored commander stands in the way. With the help of his spirit army, Commander O'Neil tries to vanquish the Confessor; however, being a true assassin, Ezra takes down the army and its commander on his own.
At the end of the long and arduous battle, Confessor Ezra finds that the fallen Commander O'Neil possessed the golden needle all along. He rushes to the church above Sellen and meets Millicent for the first time. She is red-haired, one-armed, with a white mark on her right cheek, underneath a yellow eye.
She is dying from scarlet rot. When Ezra administers the cure, Millicent writhes in pain. The assassin worries that Gowry tricked him into killing an innocent girl and stays the night to guard her.
The next morning, she is up and about, and Ezra is relieved. He hopes for their paths to cross again soon.
