There's a crazy and VERY EASY glitch you can exploit in Secret of Mana for the SNES that allows you to enter THE FUNGEON (aka the Final Dungeon aka The Mana Fortress) BEFORE you finish the Pure Land, which is normally not possible, and this is a run-on sentence.

Typically before you can enter the Mana Fortress and beat the game, you have to enter the Pure Land to fight like four dragons and a bird or something. The Pure Land is a rather long section that will take you at least half an hour to complete in a casual playthrough if your characters are well-leveled.

However, there's an easy glitch that lets you skip the Pure Land section. Head to any exterior area that has whip posts. It needs to be an area where you can summon Flammie with the Flammie Drum. You will also need two controllers for this glitch.

Have Player 1 equip the sword. Then, have him strike a whip post with the sword. While he is in the middle of his attacking animation JUST BEFORE he hits the whip post, have Player 2 open up the ring menu and use the Flammie Drum to summon your dragon.

Now head straight to the Mana Fortress. Instead of being blocked by a flashing barrier, your characters will be able to walk freely into the entrance of the Mana Fortress.

"Hitting a rope pole with a weapon while calling Flammie causes the game to skip the first event that will happen at the landing maps. For example, if you have Player 1 begin striking at a rope pole with his weapon and Player 2 calls Flammie, you can skip going to the Pure Land and go straight to the Mana Fortress. This bypasses the barrier."
