In this video I take a look at Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time,* a virtual reality puzzle adventure game.

There’s no real violence in this game so it's been kept accessible to most ages but there is often a very dark atmosphere as in most Doctor Who adventures. The bulk of the game play is story, adventure, and puzzles. It's quite good and worth playing especially for Doctor Who fans but I did experience a few problems that, until I figured them out, spoiled my experience-

*The graphics are set to 80% by default. This makes everything look blurry and I couldn't even read the menus until I realised and set it to 100%. This cleared it right up.
*The movement has a delay. I kept thinking I was trying to move to inaccessible areas and it was starting to annoy me until I realised I had to hold my finger on the move button for a second or two for it to enable the move reticule. This also is adjustable in the menu but once I knew about it I was happy to leave it.
*When I jumped in and out of the menu a torch I was holding disappeared. I discovered that if I exited to the main menu and selected to continue the game I was re-spawned in the same area with the torch back on my belt.
*The final issue I encountered was the only on I couldn't find a direct solution for. For some weird reason they have set the music volume louder than the actors voices so I quite often found they were drowned out and I couldn't hear what was going on. You'd figure they would have independent volume settings in the menu but there wasn't. The only way I was able to overcome this was to enable subtitles.

Anyway, all but one issue was completely solvable once I knew and I still enjoyed the game and recommend it. I hope they address some of these issued and fix the default settings though.
I played the entire first chapter in my video. The story is great, the atmosphere is fantastic. There’s nothing like a daunting VR experience. BTW- I played with a Vive. Apparently the game won't work with an Index or Windows Mixed Display ATM. They are working on it.
