Chess: Amazing Forced Trades
Can anyone find the quickest mate, starting at move 25? Is there a forced mate in the middle game? What about a better one in the end game? Move 31. Rxa1 could have been checkmate if I played 31. d8Q, but that would have been too easy. I wanted to practice without 2 queens lol.
Brief analysis:
I made a bunch of mistakes in the endgame. I was under time pressure and I'm still very inexperienced in end games.
I hoped for a faster mate, but I couldn't find one in the amount of time I had. When I played 36. Rxf6, I could have played 36. Ne6 instead for a faster mate. But I chose to trade into the end game because I had a queen and not a lot of time for mistakes around his two knights.
Another note: 21. Bh5+ was a killer move because it forced The Exchange (that I would win). But if I had done it on move 20 (before he moved his rook up), it would have forced him to trade his queen. Luckily, he made a mistake and let me get a discovered check to win his queen anyway. But it could have been better for him since I missed Bh5 on move 20.
