I play games poorly!

Developed by Digital Café and published by General Mills, Chex Quest HD is a remake of the 1996 cereal box pack-in Doom clone. A truly odd choice for a remake. This remake adds in more playable characters, each getting their own end screen. It also adds in cutscenes with some voice acting.

This was on sale on the Nintendo eShop so I figured why the hell not. Despite it being a licensed game that was originally packaged in cereal boxes, this game isn't too bad. Easily beaten in under two hours, the game does enough to keep you interested for that short amount of time. There are fun weapons and cute cut scenes, but this game is better played with mouse and keyboard controls. It worked well enough with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller but aiming could be a pain in the butt. I recommend this to anyone nostalgic for the original and who's looking for a quick, cheap game to play through.
