Previously on Starseed Psyche: Kyo Adachi’s closest friend, Chipansaal Akalee, or Chip for short, was injured on their first major Suberaith Squadron mission against the mysterious, invading forces of the Kyuserax. It wasn’t life-threatening, but it was bad enough that he could have been out of commission for a few weeks.
He was then taken to a specialized military hospital for faster treatment but left his phone at the base, so Kyo had no way to contact him. On top of that, Kyo learned that the place Chip had been taken was also where Suberaith Soldiers, such as General Yamada Ritsu, were being given surgical implants in their brains and arms to allow them to use weapons called the Tekigami claws, weapons that looked suspiciously like technology used by the alien race called the Repsauros, who Kyo suspects may be involved in the Kyuserax attacks and maybe even have infiltrated the Japanese Military.
Even though it had technically only been a few days since Kyo had seen Chip, Kyo’s life had changed dramatically in that time. He had learned that he was a Starseed, a reincarnated alien in human form, he’d become friends with a Kyusidian, Fayestrial, who taught Kyo all about the history of the Intergalactic Federation and how the Kyusidians themselves had created humans, and, most importantly, he’d had the two handshakes that had been foretold to him by his Spirit Guide Yorik, which informed him that he’d met both the love of his life and his greatest rival, but he wasn’t sure which was which between the Fayestrial and fellow Starseed and Suberaith Soldier, Toshiko Yamada.
After completing a trial to discover who would be the final members added to an elite Suberaith unit called the Slayer Squadron, Kyo and this squad returned to their briefing room where Kyo heard Chip’s voice inside, but has not yet seen if Chip was talked into getting the Tekigami surgery. Let’s see if he did now, in the next Chapters of Starseed Psyche
