8Choo Choo Charles is a great little open world horror game that puts you in charge of a little yellow train travelling around an island while you try to uncover the tale of Choo Choo Charles. This tale is even more difficult to unfold as Charles will try and stop you, so who is Charles? Well, he is a train that has been spliced with a spider and mixed with a demon, so yes he is a spider train demon that removes everything in his path. You travel around and meet different people that help you on your quest, give you scrap to upgrade you train and weapons so when you face Charles every once in a while he will scull away as you blast him with your firepower. This is a very well put together game and it was created by a sole developer from Two Star Games it rendered in the Unreal engine and really really looks the part, it has a good element of mild horror and does produce some scares as Charles clambers around the mountains and hilltops trying to find you. There is nothing scarier in this game than having Charles watching you from afar, you see his light at the front of his boiler and then he runs towards you at full pelt.
I bought this game in Early Access and watched it get released a day or so after, so this video I equal parts Early Access and fully released game, tbh the game felt finished when I was playing it in Early Access, but now any small bugs would have been squashed. One final thing to say, this game has an unbelievably great atmosphere, it doesn't scare you, just makes you feel unnerved slightly, which is by far a worse feeling than being scared.
