Pokemon Alpha Sapphire is a 3ds remake of the Gameboy Advance title Pokemon Sapphire. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire uses the same game system as Pokemon X or Pokemon Y and belongs within the sixth generation of Pokemon games. The gameplay is a Role Playing Game (RPG) focused on building a party of Pokemon, or Pocket Monsters, that you catch and train to fight against other trainers. It is a turn based game where each Pokemon only has 4 available moves. The main goal of this game is to acquire all eight gym badges and defeat the elite four to become the Pokemon Champion of the Hoenn Region.

Theater 8 is recorded in OBS Studio using either the Elgato HD or the Elgato HD Pro. The silhouettes are recorded using a Logitech 920c web camera. All games are captured from the original game console with the exception of NES games captured with the AVS game system made by RetroUSB. Audio was recorded with a Blue Snowball microphone. All recordings were not held in front of a live studio audience.

#SPOILERS BELOW - Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Gameplay Notes#
Let's Play Pokemon Alpha Sapphire! After a bit of debate, Matt starts the game off as a female named Twinkytatas. Matt emerges from the shipping truck and goes into her new home (which she won't stick around long for). After setting up her room, she leaves to go meet the new neighbor Brandon. Brandon is Professor Birch's son and is a fairly new Pokemon Trainer.

Matt then leaves and finds Professor Birch being attacked by a Poochyena. Birch tells Matt that there are three Pokeballs each with a different Pokemon in them that he can use to rescue him with. After a bit of debate, Matt chooses Mudkip and defeats the Poochyena.

Matt then follows Professor Birch back to his lab where Birch offers Mudkip to Matt as a reward for rescuing him. Matt then chooses to nickname Mudkip, Slobberknob. Matt and Slobberknob make their way north to meet with his son Brandon. Matt explains to Keith that Keith will be the one who picks what Pokemon will be caught and that Matt will play with whatever team Keith picks no matter how good or bad.

After easily beating Brandon, Matt returns to Professor Birch's lab and receives the Pokedex. This officially begin's Matt and Slobberknob's Pokemon adventure. Matt travels west to Petalburg City while defeating multiple trainers along the way.
