Pokemon Alpha Sapphire is a 3ds remake of the Gameboy Advance title Pokemon Sapphire. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire uses the same game system as Pokemon X or Pokemon Y and belongs within the sixth generation of Pokemon games. The gameplay is a Role Playing Game (RPG) focused on building a party of Pokemon, or Pocket Monsters, that you catch and train to fight against other trainers. It is a turn based game where each Pokemon only has 4 available moves. The main goal of this game is to acquire all eight gym badges and defeat the elite four to become the Pokemon Champion of the Hoenn Region.

Theater 8 is recorded in OBS Studio using either the Elgato HD or the Elgato HD Pro. The silhouettes are recorded using a Logitech 920c web camera. All games are captured from the original game console with the exception of NES games captured with the AVS game system made by RetroUSB. Audio was recorded with a Blue Snowball microphone. All recordings were not held in front of a live studio audience.

#SPOILERS BELOW - Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Gameplay Notes#
Let's play Pokemon Alpha Sapphire! After arriving in Rustboro, Keith doubts Matt should challenge the gym immediately which of course causes Matt to challenge the gym immediately.

Slobberknob repeatedly destroys Geodude after Geodude while Matt is annoyed by how many of them have sturdy. After defeating the three trainers on the way, Matt challenges the gym leader Roxanne. Matt mistakenly assumes her Geodude might not have sturdy and then is forced to heal against Nosepass but otherwise has minimal trouble defeating Roxanne.

After defeating the gym leader, once again Team Aqua is causing trouble by stealing the devon parts. Matt then makes chase after him and find out that the Team Aqua grunt is held up in Rusturf Tunnel with a captive Wingull.

Matt of course thinks its stupid to use a Wingull as a hostage and just charges in without any regard for the Wingull's safety (it's just a stupid wingull). He promptly uses Whiskeywing to destroy the Team Aqua Grunt and recover the Devon parts and rescue the Wingull. The battle that Slobberknob didn't take place in, causes him to evolve.

Between recordings, Matt takes a little time to do some Pokemon Amie with his new friend Whiskeywing.
