Way of the Samurai is an action-adventure game where you take the role of a Samurai and your choices will change events during a conflict over Rokkotsu Pass. You can choose to join a faction or simply be a bypasser who refuses to join the conflict. The gameplay in Way of the Samurai is a mix between hack and slash and choose your own adventure. Characters will remember your choices and treat you differently based on them.

Theater 8 is recorded in OBS Studio using either the Elgato HD or the Elgato HD Pro. The silhouettes are recorded using a Logitech 920c web camera. All games are captured from the original game console with the exception of NES games captured with the AVS game system made by RetroUSB. Audio was recorded with a Blue Snowball microphone. All recordings were not held in front of a live studio audience.

#SPOILERS BELOW - Way of the Samurai Gameplay Notes#
Let's play Way of the Samurai! We resume with Schmoops who has recently upgraded his sword at the Blacksmith (and paid as well). Schmoops then decides to go visit Suzu and hit on her. Suzu and Dona Dona are both upset that Schmoops drew his sword but Schmoops smooths things over by apologizing and demanding lunch.

Yet again Shiretoko interrupts lunch, but Schmoops was ready. After getting revenge for his previous death, Shiretoko acknowledges Schmoops as an excellent swordsman and offers the chance to join the Kurou Family. Keith convinces Matt to take him up on his offer and Suzu and Dona Dona are both disappointed in Schmoops, but who cares. Schmoops thinks they stink anyway.

Later at the Kurou residence, Shiretoko has a job for Schmoops to join them on a walk with the young master who is still a baby. The walk in the evening seems calm at first until they are attacked by Kitcho who claims he wants to take the baby for control of the foundry. Apparently the baby is Kitcho's younger brother.

Battle starts and seems to be going well until Kitcho receives reinforcements. Shiretoko hands the baby to Schmoops and orders him to take the baby to safety. In the confusion, Schmoops decides to throw the baby. After failing to be able to pick the baby back up, Schmoops joins the fray again to begin battle.

The reinforcements are very strong and are over powering Schmoops which causes him to retreat and look for food. The only food available appears to be mushrooms which he hastily devours. Soon he discovers that all of the mushrooms were poisonous and he dies of a combination of vomiting, dysentery, and profuse bloodloss.
